Sony's President & CEO, Jim Ryan, shared with the world via the PlayStation Blog that the next big showcase for the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 is en route for next week.

We've been getting information on the upcoming console for just over a year now and have been made privy to system specs as well as the DualSense controller design, but the presentation slated for June 4 will be offering one of the most exciting reveals yet: new games.

"I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday," says Ryan. "The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware."

We in the fighting game community don't really have any major leads indicating we'll see any specific titles from our genre release alongside PS5's launch, but there's always a chance and you better believe we'll be watching live right along with YouTube and Twitch audiences.

"This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour and, for the first time, we will all be together virtually experiencing the excitement together," continues Ryan. "A lack of physical events has given us an amazing opportunity to think differently and bring you on this journey with us, and hopefully, closer than ever before. This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you."

You can tune in with us to see what the reveal brings next Thursday, June 4 at 1 pm PDT.
