2020 has been a rather unique year due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Various tournaments — including EVO 2020 — have either been cancelled or replaced with an online version.

All Capcom Pro Tour events that were to be held in the early half of 2020 have already been cancelled. Yoshinori Ono has revealed that an announcement for the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup 2020 will take place tomorrow.

"Hi, World Warriors," Tweeted Ono. "I'm sure you're having a hard time. Let's get through this phase together. [We're preparing for an] announcement [about the] Capcom Pro Tour 2020 and Capcom Cup. Please wait [until] tomorrow. Thank you [for] all your support."

In a recent investors report, Capcom revealed their plans to hold more online tournaments due to the novel coronavirus. There's a decent possibility that we'll be hearing something about an online version of the Capcom Pro Tour during this situation.

Notably, we're also still waiting on more information in regards to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition's tournament mode. This could be launched alongside the reveal of an online tournament circuit.

We'll be sure to report on tomorrow's announcement once more information becomes available.
