RoboCop as a zoner is the expectation in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Edition thanks to his guns, flamethrower, riot shield, and shoulder cannon

Along with Fujin and Sheeva, RoboCop was revealed as an upcoming DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Edition. This new content will be launching on May 26.

Although we only got to see small snippets of gameplay for Sheeva and Fujin, we're not completely without details regarding what RoboCop will be able to do. Considering what we know so far, it absolutely would not be surprising to see RoboCop as a zoning character.

An image that depicts RoboCop burning Fujin with a flamethrower seems to suggest that RoboCop will be taking cues from Sektor. In Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat X (via Triborg), Sektor had access to a flamethrower special that was an excellent mid-range tool that left the opponent standing.

The ability to deny the other player the opportunity to use their invincible wake up attacks is invaluable in the Mortal Kombat series. This might make RoboCop's flamethrower a common tool to use for ending juggles.

In the movies, RoboCop was very often involved in gun fights against dangerous criminals. As such, RoboCop's gameplay will likely revolve around zoning with firearms.

Another in-game shot of RoboCop showed him holding a riot shield in front of him. It's possible that this shield could either be purposed as a counter attack or a tool that allows him to advance against projectiles.

According to IGN, RoboCop will excel "at keeping his opponents at bay with his Auto-9 pistol, flamethrower, riot shield, and shoulder cannon that can be loaded with various types of ammo."
