Issues with Fakhumram's hurtboxes are causing weird whiffs and frustrating fans of Tekken 7

Maybe it's divine intervention?

Our first few sightings of Fahkumram had us questioning his seemingly inconsistent size, and now that players have had a good month and a half to explore Tekken 7's latest DLC character they're questioning some seemingly inconsistent hurtboxes.

A recent Twitter post by DENGOJIN highlights how Fahkumram is able to weasel his way out of block and pressure strings in ways most everyone else on the roster cannot.

Hopping directly up in the air with the Thai fighter can make a lot of various incoming attacks whiff entirely. The poster's 23-second clip shares a handful of examples as different characters go from applying routine pressure to hitting nothing but air and leaving themselves open to be punished.

As if this weren't bad enough, hitting him when his back is turned can lead to sudden whiffs in the middle of otherwise successful combos. We also see some footage of routine block strings containing whiffs even as the defender does nothing but block.

Our best guess is that these elusive hurtboxes are not intentional as they give Fahkumram a unique defensive advantage over the rest of the cast and implies that, if left unpatched, fighting him will require significantly different approaches.

Once Dengoljin's post was up it didn't take long for other Tekken 7 players to begin sharing similar clips and similar frustrated sentiments. You can view the sequence highlighting the newcomer's wonky hurtboxes below, and please share your reactions with us in the comments after you're done.
