Samurai Shodown update Version 1.70 patch notes released tied to Sogetsu's release, includes big balance changes for roster

Sogetsu Kazama is the next character set to join Samurai Shodown's roster at the start of April, and now we also know that a bunch of other changes are coming with him.

SNK has released the Version 1.70 update patch notes for Samurai Shodown set to drop on April 1 with some major balance adjustments for the entire cast.

Although not specifically stated here, SamSho's next update appears to be equivalent to something of a true Season 2 for the fighting game with some changed mechanics and features like the ability to Rage Explosion during block and its timer will run down according to how much time is left in the round.

Each of the current roster members have also seen rebalancing with characters like Kyohsiro, Hanzo, Nakoruru and Rimururu all receiving various buffs to their damage, defense and recovery. Meanwhile, some others like Shizumaru and Ukyo have been toned down in those areas.

The series newcomers in Yashamaru, Darli Dagger and Wu-Ruixiang also pretty much all received buffs across the board including new cancellable moves, better invincibility, smaller hurtboxes and more.

General Changes

• A new DLC character Sogetsu was added.

Rage Gauge
• Now a max Rage Gauge depletes according to the amount of time left on the clock
