We had a handful of topics ready for this week's podcast discussion, but Tuesday's major Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition update wound up being jam-packed with so much notable new stuff that we're shelving most of what we had planned.

While the majority of character changes were inward extensions of hitboxes (don't worry, we'll clarify what that means) there were also a few pretty gnarly nerfs. Also, Akuma got buffs.

Three characters stood out to us as having the most significant changes via what we're calling the "March.5" patch. This includes Abigail, who lost a few light confirms as well as his ability to rush opponents to the corner from nearly anywhere on screen, Guile, and Rashid.

Of these three, it seems Mr. Turbulent Wind may have been hit hardest as he gained 10 frames of recovery on his EX Spinning Mixer and about 10 miles worth of extra hurtbox on his Whirlwind Shot.

The expected part of the patch, the update to SF5's matchmaking practices, will also very much be affecting player experiences. A few of us EventHubs writers have noted the particulars of our online sessions, and things look to be better than they were... if you have a strong enough internet connection at home.

We dive into all of this plus offer a few quick tips on training to level up your hit confirms. Check out the podcast episode below and please hit us with your feedback after you've listened.
