A major update was released for Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition yesterday. This newest patch provided changes to the matchmaking conditions and the balance.

As one can probably imagine, the fighting game community has been deep diving into the labs in order to discover unique interactions that have resulted from the balance adjustments. We've gathered a roundup of clips that have been circulating that showcase what's new.

Birdie's new ability to cancel into his V-Skill 2 from EX Bull Head and EX Bull Horn will surely create some new setups. NVD|Veggey has highlighted that Birdie is now able to make use of the V-Skill 2 in match ups where it was previously very difficult to do so.

Sakura's V-Skill 2 will now keep opponents in an airborne state just a little bit longer than previously. Tempo|Alex Myers certainly seems excited about the extra damage and corner carry that comes with using Sakura's medium Dragon Punch at the end of V-Skill 2 combos rather than the light Dragon Punch.

Empowered by V-Skill 2, Sagat's Tiger Knee now has two additional frames of advantage on hit and guard. A setup that Painbot has been using has now gone from leaving Sagat at +5 on block to +8.

Of course, some characters were on the receiving end of some painful nerfs. The pushblock increase of Abigail's crouching light kick might not seem like that big of a deal, but TheCoolKid93 has showcased how this really has an effect on Abigail's ability to transition into a frame trap into confirmable damage.
