More event cancellations have occurred thanks once again to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Capcom has made what was likely a difficult decision to remove all events in the early half of 2020 from this year's Capcom Pro Tour competition.

"Currently, the novel coronavirus is projected to continue for several more months or longer across the world," read the statement issued by Capcom. "In light of this situation and and considering the health and well-being of our players, staff and visitors, all tournaments scheduled to be held in the first half of the 2020 Capcom Pro Tour season have been removed from the schedule."

This means that Armor Break, Texas Showdown, Headstomper, Combo Breaker, BAM 12, TGU, Undefeated, The Fight, and CEO will no longer be part of the circuit this year. This also means "part A" of the Season has effectively been canceled.

Originally, Capcom Pro Tour 2020 was supposed to be unique from previous seasons since it was being split into two different segments — Capcom Pro Tour 2020 A and Capcom Pro Tour 2020 B.

Due to these circumstances, the Capcom Pro Tour is now scheduled to resume in July. However, Capcom has noted that they will continue to monitor the situation and adjust accordingly.

Should everything go to plan, it looks like the Capcom Pro Tour will resume with Game Over which begins on July 4 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
