Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition online warriors can prepare for their next big series of battles as the first few events on the Intel World Open circuit have now been opened up for registration. The process is fairly straightforward but does have a few hoops to jump through and so we've got some instructions to help you avoid any snags.

You can start by heading over to the IWO home page, where a "register" button is now available. You'll need to log in with your CFN credentials and identify your region (make sure you pick the correct one as this cannot be changed later).

Now you're ready to actually register. There are currently four single-elimination tournaments open for entrants right now, (March 21, March 28, April 4, and April 11) the cap on each of which is 512 entrants. You can sign up for any and all of them at this time.

Participating in the IWO requires that you are on Discord for communication with opponents and admins. You can download Discord here, and if you need help finding your Discord ID, this video can help with that.

You'll need to choose the character you plan to use on the site as you sign up, though it does indicate that you'll be able to change your character later if you need to. A handful of stages are banned, including The Grid, Mysterious Cove, Kanzuki Beach, Flamenco Tavern, Skies of Honor, and Field of Fate.

There are plenty of rules noting when you'll need to be present and how you'll need to make said presence known to avoid being disqualified on the days of the events. Be sure your connection speeds meet the requirements and note time zone differences.

The qualification process is going to be done via multiple phases, and schedules differ somewhat from region to region. Check out this nifty guide for particulars. There are actually a ton of additional fine print rules for the event, all of which you'll find right here.
