Street Fighter 2's original intro is classic. Two fighters square up to exchange blows as a roaring crowd hollers in excitement, then that big punch lands.

This intro always felt like it captured the essence of Street Fighter — two warriors literally slugging it out on the streets. The quick cinematic is iconic, and an excellent art piece from artist HeavyMetalHanzo that recreates the intro recently popped back up on social media.

In December of 2019, Hanzo went back and managed to add color to the artwork. In this piece, we see Scott firing off a quick punch at Max — yes, those are their names — as the crowd behind them cheers.

Adding a little bit of personal flair to the illustration, Hanzo injected a handful of classic Capcom characters into the crowd.

This art piece hits us with all of the nostalgia feels, as I can hear the music playing in my head as I look closely at the details Hanzo added to it. If you've never seen the original Street Fighter 2 intro or just want to check it out again, you can view it here.
