Rumor: Kombat Pack 3 for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath could be in the works according to data-miner

The Aftermath Edition update for Mortal Kombat 11 was recently released on May 26, 2020. Fujin, Sheeva, and RoboCop were added as new playable characters as a result.

This latest version of the game gives a sense of finality to Mortal Kombat 11. Ed Boon's recently stated that the team wanted to one-up Mortal Kombat XL and that NetherRealm Studios is working on something other than Mortal Kombat or Injustice. These comments certainly add to this feeling that Mortal Kombat 11's post-launch development is wrapping up.

Recently, a data-miner that goes by the name of TheThiny is asserting that Kombat Pack 3 has been confirmed. When pressed for details, they simply stated that the files now say "Kombat Pack 3" whereas they used to say "Fighter Pack." Details beyond this are scarce.

TheThiny was originally the data-miner that pointed out the existence of a character with inventory slots that were labeled as "ROB." At the time, many speculated that these inventory slots belonged to RoboCop.

Lo and behold, RoboCop is now playable in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. Supposedly, NetherRealm Studios has been interested in adding RoboCop to one of their games since Mortal Kombat 9.

Following the release of Spawn, TheThiny also reported that there are 11 slots unaccounted for within the game's code. Now that three of them are taken up by Fujin, Sheeva, and RoboCop, this means that there are still eight more combatants that can potentially join the roster.

This data-miner also appears to be adamant that Ash Williams from Army of Darkness was replaced by D.C.'s Joker. Signs seem to point to Ash Williams being a delayed rather than cancelled.

Looking back, that email that "leaked" Ash Williams still seems rather peculiar.

Considering that there's still fan demand for characters like Mileena, Reptile, Ermac, and more, one can easily imagine how a Kombat Pack 3 would be successful. Of course, it's important to temper expectations with any unconfirmed rumors like these.
