EVO 2020, which was originally supposed to take place in Las Vegas from July 31 - August 2, was unfortunately cancelled due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 global pandemic.
To "keep the EVO spirit alive," the event will instead be taking place online. Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Samurai Shodown, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Soul Calibur 6, Tekken 7 and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] of the original lineup "will be featured via exhibitions in the weeks leading up to the open tournament finals weekend," according to Mark "MarkMan" Julio.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate originally had the largest number of entrants signed up before EVO 2020 was inevitably cancelled. Notably, Smash Ultimate was completely removed from the lineup which means it likely won't see any sort of special exhibition.
The schedule shows that Them's Fightin' Herds will take place from July 4 - 5, Skullgirls from July 11 - 12, Killer Instinct from July 18 - 19, and Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath from July 25 - 26. All EVO Online open tournaments will be concluding during the July 31 - Aug. 1 weekend.
