Mew2King secures the Super Smash Bros. Melee online Ironman world record and does it with some hilariously dirty tactics

Slippi Online has gifted the Super Smash Bros. Melee community with rollback online. Ironically, many players have pointed out how superior Slippi Online's "netcode" is compared to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's.

Since this implementation was released, players like TSM|Leffen, PG|Plup, and MVG|Mew2King have been competing to secure the world record for the Melee Ironman. Essentially, these players are attempting to be the fastest when it comes to winning with all 26 characters (Zelda and Sheik counted separately) in a row during online gameplay.

Recently, Mew2King was able to secure the world record. He uploaded the footage that featured him doing this on his YouTube channel.

Although Mew2King is known for being one of the "Gods of Melee," some of the tactics that he used had nothing to do with his skill level. His tag "HOMIESTOCK" very much provides a clue to what he does to abnormally speed things up.

In some matches, he's able to get away with intentionally killing himself before a match really begins. This will sometimes prompt the opponent to prematurely end the match in response, thus awarding Mew2King a win.

Check out how this allowed Mew2King to essentially skip Mario and Dr. Mario in the clip and video below:
