EG|Ricki Ortiz will go down as one of the most accomplished fighting game players in the community's history given her long miles-record of topping events across multiple Street Fighter entries along with Marvel vs. Capcom, Capcom vs. SNK and Street Fighter x Tekken.

To help celebrate her 10th anniversary of joining the Evil Geniuses' eSports team, Ricki recently sat down to make a video detailing the biggest / most memorable moments and victories of her 20-year career up to this point.

Starting out with a bang, Ricki's first highlight centers around her 2014 set against FAV|Sako's Evil Ryu to move on in top 8, and that she did over one of Japan's best. She looks back on that now and says felt confident in because of her training which allowed her to stay in the game even with just a sliver of life remaining.

Going back to the Third Strike days, we get to see one of the famous Daigo Umehara vs. Ricki matches that would end up in a rare Judgement ruling. Though the in-game judges would rule in Ricki's favor, the actual tournament rules made them play the game over which she says unfortunately broke her composure at the time.

In more recent history, Ortiz recounts her first big Street Fighter 5 win at Defend the North 2016 where she'd defeat the future Capcom Cup champion in grand finals and set the stage for their rematch shortly thereafter — which of course has its own section in the video as well.

Daigo himself also put together a nice video message celebrating Ortiz's 10 year anniversary along how the two met and inspired each other to grow even more.

"The first time I saw Ricki play, I was blown away by her skill," said Umehara in part. "That was when my feelings toward fighting games were losing steam, but she helped me realize there were incredible players out there. After that I got motivated again, so I think she had a big impact on me in that sense."
