Fan creates outstanding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate stage following the launch of Paper Mario: The Origami King

Paper Mario: The Origami King is the latest entry in the beloved franchise and saw its release just last Friday, on July 17. Reception to the new title appears positive, and many fans are being hit hard with the nostalgia seeing the return of the popular plumber in the flat, 2D world.

Shortly after the official launch of Origami King, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate user named Curry Hiro uploaded a Paper Mario-themed stage that looks absolutely fantastic. "In honor of the new Paper Mario game release!" reads the title of this awesome backdrop.

The stage went live on July 18, and it features an incredibly accurate depiction of the game's protagonist. Mario can be seen firing off one of his classic peace signs with a backdrop that was derived from the series' aesthetic.

This battlefield can hold up to four players, and the platform on which fighters do battle is a mixture of green and brown and designed to keep with the Paper Mario motif.

While the visuals of the stage deserve to be appreciated, one thing that I also find myself a fan of is the style of the platform itself. Often time with intricate created stages, the amount of detail that goes into them can make them less than ideal to actually play on.

In this stage, however, the platform isn't too extreme, being mostly a flat surface with a couple of small hills on it. If you wanted to download this stage and run legitimate sets against your friends on it, you could.
