Ed Boon: I wish I could comment on the subject of Ash Williams from Evil Dead in Mortal Kombat but perhaps that's a conversation for the future

The presence of Ash Williams in Mortal Kombat 11 is something that's been HEAVILY rumored since the game was released. Despite this, the only DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 11 right now are Shao Kahn as a pre-order bonus, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Terminator T-800, Sindel, The Joker, and Spawn via the Kombat Pack 1, and Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop via the Aftermath update.

When asked about Ash Williams during the Vic's Basement podcast, Ed boon provided an extremely suspicious answer.

"Where is Ash William in Mortal Kombat?" asked the fan question from Twitter.

"I wish... there's one I wish I could comment on," said a smirking Boon. "You know what? Perhaps in a future Vic's Basement, we can have a conversation like that."

According to a certain data-miner, there are references to a Kombat Pack 3 in Mortal Kombat 11's code. It's entirely possible that Ash Williams could be added via this supposed Kombat Pack 3. We suspect that Mileena's chances are also particularly high since Ed Boon has noted the immense amount of fan support backing the character.

There's been plenty of speculation that suggests that Ash Williams was at one point replaced by D.C.'s Joker during development. This theory was supported by the fact that Ash William's name strangely appeared instead of the Joker's in an in-game message that advertised Kombat Pack 1's content.

Later, a official email from NetherRealm Studios also mentioned the inclusion of Ash Williams as DLC in Mortal Kombat 11. However, it was Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop that were announced after the Kombat Pack 1 was released.

Bruce Campbell — the actor behind Ash Williams — claims that he doesn't know if Ash Williams will be a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11 via DLC. Of course, he could just be denying it as he wouldn't be permitted to confirm rumors if he was under a non-disclosure agreement.

There's currently a ton of evidence that suggest that Ash Williams is or was planned for Mortal Kombat 11. However, do keep in mind that nothing official has been confirmed from NetherRealm Studios at this time. Even the existence of a "Kombat Pack 3" is only a rumor right now.
