Punk takes the wrong page out of Daigo's playbook and KO's himself on Urien's Aegis Reflector during Wednesday Night Fights in Street Fighter 5

RB|Daigo Umehara has earned himself a bit of a funny reputation the last couple of years for accidentally KO-ing himself against Urien's Aegis Reflector in Street Fighter 5, but he's not the only one to fall for the self trick too.

During this week's online Wednesday Night Fight tournament in SF5, PG|Punk entered the event with the goal of only playing Ryu the entire time until he hit a bit of a snag with a a Master-ranked Urien.

Both players had low life and V-Triggers active in the first round of their second game where Punk was able to successfully block the first wave of mirror mixups before ultimately falling for the second.

SouthpawRock performed EX Chariot Tackle and cancelled into the second Aegis Reflector which Punk was ready for, but he seemingly forgot in the moment that he was using Ryu and not Karin, Kolin or anyone else who could still hit through the V-Trigger.

Ryu's Denjin Hadouken of course gets tossed out and immediately bounced back in his own face thanks to that reflective property we don't get to see too often in matches. Punk knew it in the Critical Art freeze screen as well.

I actually didn't know that winning in that situation would give the Urien a win check for CA, but it does.

"Bro, I'm thinking I'm every other character who can do that," Punk said after losing the round.

That play wouldn't factor in too much to the overall results though, as Punk went on to take the next to rounds and the set before finishing the WNF bracket in fifth.

Umehara has run into this issues with Uriens on multiple occasions as well, especially with Guile, to the point that he seemingly played up the gag a bit during CO|Dogura's wedding when they played an exhibition match against one another.

If you're looking for a good Street Fighter clip to give you a chuckle, this should probably be right up your alley.
