EVO tournament organizer Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar has been placed on administrative leave following accusations of misconduct. The company's official Twitter account has released a statement addressing the situation.

According to EVO, a third party investigation into the accusations will be conducted.

"We are aware of the accusations made against Joey Cuellar," EVO's statement begins. "The behavior in these accusations runs directly counter to EVO's mission of building a safe, welcoming environment for all of our players and attendees.

"We take this responsibility seriously. Accordingly Joey has been placed on administrative leave pending a third party investigation," the statement concludes.

Accusations surfaced on Twitter last night involving Cuellar and a 17-year-old at the Southern Hills Golf Land arcade back in 2001. In a TwitLonger post, Twitter user PyronIkari alleged that Cuellar enticed the minor to expose his penis by way of a bet.

The post from PyronIkari was released on July 1. EVO's statement followed three hours later.

At this point in time, nothing has been said about the status of the upcoming EVO 2020 Online event that is set to begin this weekend. It appears as though the event will be held as initially planned, beginning on July 4 and running every weekend in July.
