With the EVO Japan 2020 weekend now behind us, it's time to start thinking of the EVO event that will take place in the United States. Which games will be part of the lineup this year?

Although there were nine different titles present at last year's event, Mr. Wizard — one of the main tournament organizers for EVO — recently posed an interesting question to the FGC. "If EVO 2020 could only have six games, which games would make the cut?"

Earlier today, it was announced on Twitter that plans for the tournament will be revealed next week. These plans will include this year's lineup.

"Please join us on February 4 at 7 pm PST on http://Twitch.tv/Evo when we reveal our plans for EVO 2020, including this year’s game roster," stated Mr. Wizard. For those of us living on the East Coast, that's 10 pm EST.

Notably, EVO 2020 currently isn't listed as a premiere event for the Capcom Pro Tour this year. Of course, considering that Street Fighter 5 has been either the most popular or second most popular game in EVO's lineup since its release, it seems likely that the game will still be featured regardless.

Seeing as how Super Smash Bros. Ultimate featured the highest number of entrants at EVO Japan, we can probably expect this game to return for a second year. Other fighting games like Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, and Dragon Ball FighterZ also continue to have strong numbers at events.

It's worth mentioning that Granblue Fantasy Versus will be releasing on February 6 — just two days after this EVO stream takes place. Players should have plenty of time to start practicing the game should it be announced for the EVO lineup.

Remember that EVO 2020 will begin on July 31, 2020 and last until August 2, 2020 at the Mandalay Bay Resort And Casino, Las Vegas. We'll be sure to tune in on the stream in order to report on the information that surfaces during the live reveal.
