Official portraits of Byleth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate show off every last gorgeous detail of the incoming fighter

We're just four days away from being able to get our hands on Byleth, the sixth and final character of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's first season of DLC releases, and if you haven't had the chance to fully appreciate just how good this new fighter looks, now's your chance.

The folks running the official Smash Ultimate page have posted up seven full portraits of the newcomer so we can see just how beautifully designed they are in each of their various Smash Ultimate styles.

This is actually the eighth Fire Emblem character to join Ultimate's brimming roster, and Byleth has two distinct appearances as they can be both male or female.

Masahiro Sakurai and his development team integrated this directly into the character's alternate color system as odd-numbered "colors" will give players a male Byleth while even-numbered ones yield the feminine look.

While there's certainly been a decent bit of controversy over the fact that yet another sword-wielding Fire Emblem character is the final inclusion for the Fighters Pass, there's no question that the design team was on their A-game while putting this avatar together.

We have seven of the eight looks Byleth has to offer in the gallery below, but if you'd like to see their special Sothis attire (as well as learn about the references each color includes) you can do so right here. Check out the gallery and, as always, let us know what you think in the comments.
