Of these five characters that broke the meta in their fighting games, only one of them was banned

Understanding which characters are top tier in a particular fighting game is an essential process if you have any plans on competing at a top level. Every now and again, there will be fighters that are borderline "broken."

TrueUnderDawgGaming asserts that there is a major difference between overpowered characters and broken ones. It is declared that while an overpowered challenger will often dominate the meta due to access to strong tools, a broken character usually has access to unintended exploits that can break the game.

In his recent video upload, TrueUnderDawgGaming discusses five characters that broke their respective games. Interestingly enough, only one of them was ever banned from tournament play.

First off, it's worth mentioning that Leroy from Tekken 7 and GT Goku didn't actually make this list. It appears that TrueUnderDawgGaming has labeled these particular fighters as "overpowered" rather than "broken."

Put simply, while Leroy and GT Goku ended up being stronger than developers expected, they didn't have access to tools that exploited something that is clearly unintended.

It might be surprising to hear that Abel from Street Fighter 4 made this list. This is due to the fact that he actually had access to an infinite combo.

You'd rarely see this loop in action since it was generally regarded as being too difficult for humans to consistently perform. Obviously this was a major problem if you ended up getting matched up against TOOLASSISTED's bot since human error was completely removed from the equation.

The character that was briefly banned from tournament play was Cyborg in Injustice 2. From full screen, he was actually capable of performing a block infinite using instant air fireballs.
