Following the epic conclusion of grand finals at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals, Bandai Namco fully unveiled the next DLC characters coming to the game for its third season of content.

Producer Tomoko Hiroki took the stage to reveal Ultra Instinct Goku and the newly announced Kefla's gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ from the Tournament of Power arc of Dragon Ball Super.

They start things off by showing off the new Dramatic Finish featuring Frieza and Goku taking down Jiren which was previously data-mined the the game's files.

Bandai Namco, who is already known for their short trailers, only showed a few brief clips of Ultra Instinct Goku in action by starting out with a quick-stop dash punch that sends Jiren across the screen.

Goku also appears to have a unique dodge mechanic that allows him to slip completely through projectiles both on the ground and in air at the very least and get behind his opponent for a big punish opportunity.

Finally, they show off what appears to be similar to Gogeta's command grab where Ultra Instinct Goku dashes through the opponent completely before they're left getting hit by a barrage of invisible punches.

After revealing how many spots there'd be in the FighterZ Pass 3, Kefla busts onto the scene to bring the highly requested fusion into the fighting game to bring the grand total of five new DLC characters this year.

Kefla is the Potara fusion of the universe six Saiyans, Caulifla and Kale, where she ends up becoming one of the most powerful fighters in the Tournament of Power.

Her gameplay starts out with a string, including a cancellable low kick, into a ki blast which looks quite similar to Broly's Giant Eraser blast followed by what seems to be Kefla's level one super, pulling out six orb projectiles to toss at her enemy.

The first female Super Saiyans also appear to have a command dash, at least in the air, which can pass through her opponent though it isn't shown phasing through an attack or anything.

Another one of Kefla's supers seems like it'll be a great utility option like Gotenks' Kamikaze Ghosts. She tosses a collection of six orbs up into the air, and they then rain down and home in on poor Goku here.

Her level three meteor super recreates Kefla's final confrontation with Goku where she blasts ki out of her body before finishing it off with the giant swirling red and green blast, taking up the majority of the screen.

Yesterday, Hiroki also revealed the game's Z Assist function would be expanding for season three with three selectable assists coming with the update for every character in the game over the original one it had up to this point. A balance update and more new mechanics will be coming to S3 though we'll apparently need to wait a bit longer to find out their exact specifics.

Kefla's addition will seemingly serve as the start of Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3 with her release on February 28 — FighterZ Pass 3 owners will be able to play the new DLC two days early — while Ultra Instinct Goku was given a release window of Spring 2020.
