Capcom Cafe in Japan to hold special Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition collaboration featuring themed food and drinks for the world warriors

I hope it's all Blanka-chan

Specialty cafes themed around anime, manga and video games are not out of the ordinary in some parts of Japan though it's pretty rare to see ones dedicated to a specific fighting game series.

With the release of Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition this week, however, Capcom seems to be doing exactly that... sort of.

One of the Capcom Collaboration Cafes in Japan will be hosting a special Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition-themed event beginning February 20 and running through March 25 in Koshigaya, up north of Tokyo.

As is the norm for themed cafes in the area, special Street Fighter-themed food and drinks will be served at the location though the announcement page doesn't specify what all it will include.

They do tease the cafe will be basing part of their menu off of the key visual of the collaboration which features Cody, Ryu, Chun-Li, Sakura, Blanka and Cammy who are all holding sweets or meals.

Cammy has a plate of pancakes, Chun-Li has a boba tea, Ryu has a big ol' slab of meat, Sakura has some sort of club sandwich, and Cody has red and blue drinks — which I'm not sure I get the reference to unless it's Gill. The rest I'm pretty lost on too.

Blanka is holding a small Blanka-chan though it's unclear if it's meant to represent the merchandise available in the shop or if there will be some sort of Blanka-chan cake on the menu or something.

A collaboration cafe like this isn't complete without exclusive merchandise as well, so it'll be interesting to see what all is up for grabs that we're probably never going to be able to get for ourselves — they just did an event for Okami before.

Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition released February 14, 2020 and includes pretty much every piece of content released for the game over the last four years including Gill and Seth. You can check out the key visual art for the cafe collaboration below.

Also, they better have a vanilla and chocolate swirl sundae themed around Seth, or they'll have messed this whole thing up.
