Ed Boon randomly mentions Reptile from Mortal Kombat on Twitter which may or may not be a hint at Kombat Pack 3

Ed Boon from NetherRealm Studios is one of those fighting game developers that clearly likes to tease fans about upcoming plans. Before the release of the Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, there were a ton of requests from fans to have Mileena added as a playable fighter. This would eventually prompt Boon to joke about Mileena never being in another NetherRealm Studios title ever again.

It seems that Ed Boon might be up to his usual antics again. Earlier, Ed Boon linked a video and simply stated "random Reptile video" without any extra context.

This YouTube video by KayGee is titled "MK11 - Reptile in KP3." The description (which can even be seen from Twitter) says "some Reptile footage from Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate. Maybe he is on the way with Sektor and Cyrax. Who knows? Enjoy!"

The Mortal Kombat movie theme is playing in the background of this 15 second video. Upon hitting play, viewers will simply see Reptile laughing then sliding across the ground in Mortal Kombat 11.

However, the "Reptile" in this video is actually Shang Tsung after he is able to successfully pull off the slide Brutality seen in Shang Tsung's variation that gives him access to special attacks from Reptile, Ermac, Smoke and Rain using basic skins.

All four of these "ninja" characters were unplayable until Rain was made available via the Kombat Pack 2. Could the same happen with Reptile?

It's worth noting that KayGee also created similar videos for Smoke and Ermac that are actually more recent than the Reptile video. Notably, Ed Boon did not link these videos in any of his Tweets.

As of right now, there's no confirmation from NetherRealm Studios that Kombat Pack 3 is currently in development. Knowing Ed Boon, this could either be a tease of things to come or a random comment that isn't meant to be anything.
