Update: Today is the big day and you can find the stream embed so as to watch the presentation right along with us after the jump below.

Earlier: It's still crazy to think that Final Fantasy 7's Sephiroth is joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the third challenger of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. While his trailer did reveal a lot about his moveset, we're still eagerly waiting for a more detailed breakdown from Masahiro Sakurai, Director of the Super Smash Bros. series.

Nintendo will be "livestreaming" the pre-recorded Mr. Sakurai Presents "Sephiroth" video December 17. You'll definitely want to tune in tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST / 5 p.m. EST to get all the details about the Final Fantasy 7 antagonist in Smash Ultimate.

In previous "Sakurai Presents" videos, Nintendo of America would specifically let fans know that no new characters would be revealed during the presentations. However, this was strangely not declared this time.

According to PushDustin, this information was in fact clarified in Japanese. It seems that we definitely won't be getting any information regarding Challenger Pack 9 at the scheduled time.

"The Sakurai Presents video will ONLY be Sephiroth. No other characters will be announced. This is from the Japanese video description," said PushDustin on Twitter.

The official Smash Bros. Japan Twitter account has revealed that this stream will span for 35 minutes. This is fairly typical with previous presentations of this sort.

Fans have already taken notice of the fact that this villain's breakdown will be debuting considerably later in the day compared to previous fighters. For example, the "Mr. Sakurai Presents Steve & Alex" video went live at 7:30 a.m. PT.

Similarly, Sakurai's breakdowns for Min Min, Byleth and Terry Bogard were scheduled for 7 a.m. PT, 6 a.m. PT and 5 a.m. PT respectively. Fans have been speculating on why Sephiroth's video is going live at 2 p.m. PT instead of in the morning like usual.

The theory right now suggests that Cloud's arch-nemesis is planned to be released after the "Mr. Sakurai Presents" video. Of course, Nintendo is known for informing fans on when a big patch is about to drop so that they can save their replays from the soon to be outdated version. As of right now, no such warning has been issued on Nintendo's Twitter accounts.

We should also receive information about the new Final Fantasy 7 stage that should be coming with Sephiroth in Challenger Pack 8. Here's hoping that we also get more than two music tracks this time.

Like with previous presentations of this type, new mii costumes will likely be revealed. These typically go for $0.75 each. Maybe one of the costumes will get paired with some new music like with the Sans costume from Undertale and the Cuphead costume.
