King of Fighters 15 teaser reveals first three playable characters, full trailer coming January 7
Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3 reveals slated for the same date
SNK has broken their silence and revealed new information on King of Fighters 15. A new teaser and sit down with the game's developers unveils the first three playable characters, as well as when we can expect to see the first official reveal.
Kyo, Benimaru, and Shun'ei have all been confirmed as playable in King of Fighters 15 by way of concept art sketches featured in the teaser trailer. Additionally, the first full reveal is slated for a January 7, 2021 release.
In the video, KOF15 Creative Director Eisuke Ogura and Producer Yasuyuki Oda provide the first concrete details about the upcoming title. They start out by saying that the first official reveal trailer for the game is en route and though today's trailer doesn't feature any gameplay, it does have several interesting things included to talk about.
The teaser trailer showcases the first three playable characters through concepts sketches. Kyo, Benimaru, and Shun'ei all have updated designs, which the developers detail further into the video.
Additionally, this quick glimpse reveals the King of Fighters 15 logo. Oda confirms that this logo will be the official one used for the game going forward.
This new logo changes things up from previous titles, as Oda notes that the icon reads "KOF" next to the roman numerals. This is because so many people (including the developers) refer to the game as KOF so often, and the full name of the game can still be seen written smaller underneath it.
Ogura notes that the way teams are composed will differ greatly in King of Fighters 15, but does not specify how just yet. We can expect to see more information about the game periodically released over the course of next year, so we'll have to wait and see how this works exactly.
"This will be our most ambitious KOF yet!" Ogura says. "We're really proud of what we have so please look forward to it."

It was also announced that Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3's next DLC characters will be revealed on January 7 alongside the KOF15 trailer. On top of revealing the identity of the guest character from The Last Blade, another fighter will also be unveiled during this presentation.
