Rumor: Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath has 8 more DLC character slots that can be filled according to data miner

According to Thethiny (a known data-miner), Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath has 19 DLC slots. However, it's important to understand that Thethiny isn't stating that there are 19 more DLC fighters coming to the game.

This is because 11 of these DLC slots are already being used for characters that are currently available. This means that 8 more fighters could be coming to Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.

Slot 1 is dedicated to Shao Kahn, slot 2 is for Frost, 3 is for Shang Tsung, 4 is for Nightwolf, 5 is for the Terminator, 6 is for Sindel, 7 is for D.C.'s Joker, 8 is for Spawn, 9 is for Fujin, 10 is for RoboCop, and 11 is for Sheeva.

Although Frost can be unlocked by completing the game's main story mode, there is an option to unlock her without doing that for a price. As such, Frost technically counts as a DLC fighter as far as these slots are concerned.

This means that there are 8 slots unaccounted for. Thethiny seems to believe that 8 more DLC characters could be on the way. Along with the 34 characters that are already playable, this means that Mortal Kombat 11 could have a roster of 42.

When pressed for more details, Thethiny elaborated that the DLC character slots are not the same thing as skins. According to Thethiny, skins are called "AUX" in the code.

Recently, Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studios claimed that the team is 'not even klose' to being done with Mortal Kombat 11. For the moment, it's not entirely clear what this actually means.

Funnily enough, Ed Boon continues to tease fans about Mileena's exclusion from Mortal Kombat 11. If there really are more characters on the way, then Mileena seems like a strong candidate that was likely considered.

We'll just have to wait and see if these 8 DLC slots translate to anything in the future. It's entirely possible that we could see a big announcement for Mortal Kombat 11 this Friday. Fingers crossed.
