Master Roshi has no Super Dash in Dragon Ball FighterZ but he can force opponents to swap characters according to magazine details

At least they're keeping with the canon I guess

The long-awaited Master Roshi will soon be coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ as the third DLC character for Season 3, and he's apparently shaping up to be one of the most unique members of the growing roster.

Gameplay details for Roshi have appeared online early from the upcoming V-Jump magazine in Japan which reveals much of what the hermit will be capable of for specials and supers — including the fact that he doesn't have a Super Dash.

That's right, the classic Dragon Ball character will reportedly be unable to use Super Dash to get in, but its function will be replaced with a new move / moves that allow him to perform super jumps.

This appears to keep with the canon abilities of the Dragon Ball series, as Master Roshi never actually learned to fly like the rest of the Z Fighters which is not the first time Bandai Namco and Arc System Works have altered mechanics in the game for similar reasons.

Videl is also missing the reflect option the rest of the cast has and instead uses a dodge to avoid incoming attacks — though that doesn't usually help her out much in the eyes of most players.

As far as his specials go, Roshi will have access to the Bankoku Bikkuri Sho (Thunder Shock Surprise) which hits a big portion of the screen and can't be blocked in the air. This may help keep the fight more grounded due to his lack of flying though we'll need to see it in action first.

"The reveal trailer already showed off his Mafuuba (Evil Containment Wave) Super which reportedly does actually 'seal' the afflicted character and force the opponent to switch to a new fighter when landed"

He also appears to have something of a command grab called the Yoiko Minmin Ken (Sleepy Boy Technique) that temporarily stuns the enemy when they're caught blocking.

The reveal trailer already showed off his Mafuuba (Evil Containment Wave) Super which reportedly does actually "seal" the afflicted character and force the opponent to switch to a new fighter when landed.

Roshi's second super is titled 'Muten Roshi, The World's #1' and uses his cane for a powerful attack and may end it with a Kamehameha likely at the cost of an additional bar of meter.

Finally for his level 3 Meteor attack, Roshi will perform the Ultimate Strongest Kamehameha which will probably see the old master transform into his muscled-up appearance for a single big move like GT Goku's Super Saiyan 4.

Bandai Namco previously revealed Roshi would be available in September though the magazine apparently lists him with a Summer release window. This means he'll have to be out before the first day of Fall, September 22.

The magazine has yet to hit store shelves in Japan, but when it does, we'll likely be able to see more screenshots of the moves listed here and some extra tidbits of information.
