Alright this Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Raging Demon set up is dirty and I totally got hit with it in my head

'I'll just block the... oh wait... nevermind'

I'm not all that fond of Akuma in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, but I'm a man who can respect game when I see it. With this recent clip of an online bout, I find myself begrudgingly holding the L of how dirty this Raging Demon set up is, and dwelling on the fact that I definitely didn't escape it in my head.

The footage comes from tourya1234 on Twitter, and in it we see their Akuma versus a Ken player. What looks to be a meaty set up turns into a devastating Raging Demon, and if you blink, you might miss it.

After blocking a raw Tatsu, tourya fires into a standard bread and butter punish. From his own light Hurricane Kick, the Akuma hits a standing medium punch to reset Ken out of the air.

That standing MP is cancelled into Akuma's V-Skill palm strike, and it looks like it's on track to hit Ken as a meaty right when he lands. Instead, the palm just barely whiffs and is cancelled into Raging Demon.

Because Akuma activated V-Trigger during the previous interaction, he was able to launch right into the special Super from the V-Skill. The opponent was expecting to block the palm and await their turn, and since they weren't already jumping when the Critical Art started, they got snatched up and died one thousand deaths.

Be honest... did you get hit by this set up? Let us know in the comments below.
