Dan, Rose, Oro, Rival Schools' Akira revealed for Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5
Capcom held their big Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition live stream today. In it, the company unveiled the details of the game's Summer Update, which gives us our first tangible information about Season 5's content.
Dan, Rose, and Oro have been revealed as playable in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5. Capcom also announced that Akira from Rival Schools will be joining the roster.
Dan marks the first DLC character to join the game here in Season 5. He is the first of five new fighters slated to be added to the roster.
During the stream, a quick glimpse of gameplay footage for Dan was shown. We saw a handful of his special moves in action, including his trademark fireball.
Rose has also been revealed as a playable character in Season 5. The Street Fighter 5 developers followed this announcement by revealing that Oro is the third character to join.
As far as Oro's gameplay style goes, Capcom noted that he has unique play styles that only he can perform. His tricky movements and supreme moveset will be a challenge to implement into the game.
Most surprising, Capcom unveiled that they will be adding Akira from Rival Schools into the mix. Her move set will include "unique Rival Schools gimmicks," and Capcom considered several other fighters before landing on Akira.
The final character of Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5 was not announced during the broadcast.
A content release road map was shared during the stream. Season 5 will extend out through Fall 2021.
Dan will be the first character to be released, and he is expected in Winter of this year. He will come alongside a new Capcom Pro Tour 2021 stage, as well as a batch of new costumes.
Rose is set to follow in Spring 2021. Included with her will be her own stage, and another set of three costumes is expected at this time.
Street Fighter 3's own Oro and Rival Schools' Akira are due out in Summer 2021. They will be launched with a unique Akira Kazama stage.
Lastly, Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5's fifth and final character is en route for a Fall 2021 release. A new CPT 2022 stage will be added at this time, and we'll also be seeing a set of three new CPT 2022 costumes simultaneously.

Outside of the new characters and content, Capcom has confirmed that a brand new battle mechanic is coming to Street Fighter 5. This will be added in the Winter of this year with Dan's release.
At that same time, Street Fighter 5 will also see a new balance update. The specifics of what that will entail have not yet been divulged.
In Fall 2021, Capcom will be adding another set of balance changes to the game. With this being tied to the launch of the game's final character, it could mean that we're seeing the final balance update for Street Fighter 5 toward the end of next year.
Capcom hopes to do more of these types of presentations in the future.
