'Who needs talent or hard work when you can just spin dash?' - Cosmos reads the mind of a Sonic player in his latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate skit

"Can't catch me. Can't react. Just play this lame and we'll escape from the city."

These are the lyrics Cosmos heard while reading the mind of the Sonic user that was playing against him in his most recent skit featuring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This video takes all the stereotypes of Sonic mains in Smash and pits them against Cosmos' sanity.

For those that are unaware, Sonic has become a somewhat controversial subject in the Smash community due to the forced online meta that's come about due to the global pandemic in 2020.

Since Sonic has access to the fastest run speed in the game, it can be very difficult to react to Sonic's gameplan online — especially if there's any lag.

Although it can be argued that Sonic users have begun to evolve the meta for the Blue Blur, many are attributing Sonic's sudden success at tournaments to the online situation.

Competitors also tend to dislike when Sonic plays for the timer in matches. For better or worse, Sonic's toolkit does lend well to this type of strategy.

Even though Cosmos and the Sonic player in the video (played by Cilvanis) were in the same room, the skit payed homage to the laggy environment that's often associated with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's online play. In any event, the video is certainly worth some laughs due to its clever writing and acting.
