Granblue Fantasy: Versus quickly became one of the biggest launches for a fighting game in Japan in almost the past decade, and the spin-off of the mobile title still seems to be trucking on at a strong pace.

Publisher Cygames has revealed now that Granblue Fantasy: Versus has shipped / sold over 350,000 copies worldwide in less than three months since the initial Asian territory release and less than two months from the western launch.

To help commemorate the occasion, Granblue Versus' official Twitter shared a special piece of art featuring Djeeta holding up Lyria with the text saying "thank you for 350,000 sales."

Just under a month ago, Cygames announced that their first foray into fighting games had pushed over 200,000 copies in Japan alone though this latest number is tied to the physical copies shipped to retailers and digital versions sold across the globe.

Due to the lack of digital sales tracking until more recently, it's difficult to gauge just how strong of a launch this has been for Granblue. The title did manage to sell 86,000 copies physically in its first week which eclipsed the likes of pretty much every major fighting game release in Japan in recent history even outperforming Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball FighterZ — that is except Super Smash Bros. of course.

The game still has one more character to complete its Character Pass 1 with Zooey scheduled to release next week on April 28 alongside a new balance update for GBVS. There's going to be a Character Pass 2 coming as well including Belial, but we'll need to wait until later in the year to learn more about who's all coming next.

The Twitter post does also state that the developers are planning more updates for the future as well, so that seems to be a pretty good sign that things are going pretty well for the game despite its world tour being completely cancelled for the year.
