Sony has revealed the "DualSense," the new wireless controller for the upcoming PlayStation 5. This controller is sporting the colors of white, black, and blue thanks to the light bar.

Like with previous PlayStation console controllers, the face buttons consist of an X, square, triangle, and circle. There's also a control pad, a left analog stick, a right analog stick, a PS button, and a touch pad.

It's been noted that the "Share" button has been removed and replaced with a "Create" button feature. At the top of the controller, L1, L2, R1, and R2 shoulder buttons can be located.

The blog has mentioned that the development team are "pioneering new ways for players to create epic gameplay content to share with the world, or just to enjoy for themselves" with usage of the Create button. Additional details about the functionality of the Create button will be revealed on a later date.

Sony has mentioned the usage of "adaptive triggers" (no relation to my username) into the L2 and R2 buttons of DualSense so users can "truly feel the tension of [their] actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow."

Supposedly, the controller will be more comfortable as Sony has "hanged the angle of the hand triggers and also made some subtle updates to the grip." In addition, they have "took thoughtful consideration into ways to maintain a strong battery life for DualSense’s rechargeable battery, and to lessen the weight of the controller as much as possible as new features were added."

Thanks to a built-in microphone array, players will be able to chat online with friends without an additional headset purchase. Having said that, it's still recommended to use a headset for longer chat periods. Notably, a port is located at the top that's likely intended for this purpose.

According to Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, "the new controller, along with the many innovative features in PlayStation 5, will be transformative for games."
