The art of projectile tossing has been a major part of fighting games widely since Street Fighter 2 put the genre on the map, but as integral as this approach can be, it's still one of the hardest and most unforgiving lessons to learn.

The best in the business right now, RB|Bonchan, is known for his abilities in this particular arena thanks to his incredible accomplishments and performances with Sagat from the Street Fighter 4 days. The reigning EVO champ offered some of his secrets to throwing safer fireballs in an older stream archive, and FGC Translated has captioned it with English subtitles for those of us who don't speak Japanese.

As we've seen before with Bonchan in his analysis of REC|Punk's play, the current Pro Tour point leader is exceptionally meticulous and detailed in his observations.

This approach has led him to sniff out and identify certain small twitches and/or general movements that when most players make, serve as green lights to toss out fireballs. One example is when a foe whiffs a poke like low-forward. Bonchan explains that after a whiff with an attack like this many players will instinctively go on the defense for a split second and just block. Guess what you can do if someone is in block mode?

After we get our lesson in plasma chucking, we're treated to a wonderful set between Bonchan and CYG|Fuudo from all the way back at EVO 2014 (the year Bonchan got second to RB|Luffy).

We get to see this all put directly into action on the biggest stage of them all against a competitor whose reactions and awareness are rivaled by very few. Even armed with both the ability to jump and EX Chicken Wing through Tiger Shots, Fuudo appears more or less helpless against the expertly-timed peppering of fireballs:
