After Fatal Fury's Terry Bogard, there is only one mysterious character remaining as far as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighters Pass is concerned. However, it was recently revealed that additional characters outside of the Fighters Pass' five are currently in development.

When the Fighters Pass was first unveiled for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, we were told that Nintendo made the list of DLC selections that Sakurai was able to choose from. It appears that the combatants that will come after the Fighters Pass will be following a similar selection process.

In Masahiro Sakurai's latest column, he informed readers that Nintendo was once again responsible for creating a list of characters for DLC. Like before, Sakurai would have the final say in regards to who would ultimately be chosen.

It was stated that the development team are able to work on each new addition, one after another. However, Sakurai's attention is essentially required for every step of the process.

Sakurai then explains that he has a desire to put his all into this particular iteration of Super Smash Bros. As of right now, he isn't thinking about the next in the series and he isn't taking a long break despite the fact that he's been dedicating around eight years of his life to just working on the series, as it has been a continuous cycle since Smash 4.

Regardless, Sakurai stated that he enjoys the work that he is doing and considers it an honor to work with so many different game franchises. He once again reaffirms that the "Everyone is Here" theme will probably only be a one time thing.

As a result, he wants to continue to push the record that's been set with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
