Kirby gets a miniature Kazooie when he inhales Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it's the cutest thing I've seen in a while

Last week's Nintendo Direct presentation not only detailed the official release date for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's next DLC character, Banjo-Kazooie, but much to the surprise of fans everywhere explained that the fighter would be available for download later that day.

Whenever a new character comes to Smash Ultimate, the community dives right in to find out a few key things: what their moves are like, how good they feel overall, and of course, what their Kirby transformation looks like. For Banjo-Kazooie, Kirby gets his very own miniature version of the feathered part of the duo, and it's really damn cute.

One of Kirby's main skills is inhaling his opponents, ingesting them, and taking on a special trait of theirs that he can use in battle himself. This has been a staple of the character since 1993, and it's a skill that was included since his debut in Super Smash Bros. 64.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, when Kirby copies Banjo he gets a little backpack of his own (complete with small Kazooie), as well as a necklace similar to what the bear wears. As you'd expect, Kirby can utilize Banjo-Kazooie's egg shot when he dons their look — both the standard version and the held version that sees Banjo carry Kazooie like a rifle and fire multiple shots.

There's something so adorable about a tiny, sassy Kazooie hanging out in Kirby's backpack, and the egg shot is definitely a strong special move to mimic. I would have expected Kirby to take on more features of Banjo, similar to his Donkey Kong transformation, but what we got is far better than what I had initially envisioned.

You can take a look at the transformation in the images below, and if you'd like to see Kirby's rendition of Banjo-Kazooie in action, check out GameXplain's video below that runs through various aspects of the new DLC character including their screen KO, what displays for them in the boxing ring stage, and more.
