Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has certainly proven itself to be the greatest crossover in fighting game history. There are representatives from essentially every major franchise within the cast — including SNK's own Fatal Fury fighting game franchise.

The indie darling Undertale even made it into Ultimate with a special Mii costume though some were hoping for a full character. It'll come with a special arrangement of Megalovania composed by Toby Fox.

Toby Fox got the very rare opportunity to talk and play Smash with Masahiro Sakurai which he talked about in a recent Twitter thread. He also got to ride in Sakurai's car where they listened to Smash music.

He says he feels honored to get something he created into a Smash game. The Sans Mii costume is the only costume that comes with a special arrangement of music which serves as a testament to how impactful Undtertale's OST is / was.

Without a translator, he was forced to use broken Japanese to communicate with Sakurai though he was still able to convey his Smash experiences across.

The Mii costume is available for $0.75 on the Nintendo e-shop. That, along with all the DLC can be found there.

Sans joins the likes of Shovel Knight as non-playable western indie characters to make it into Smash Ultimate with the latter being an Assist Trophy. WayForward's Shantae can also be found in the game as a Spirit.
