Update: The Direct has ended, so Masahiro Sakurai is giving us the details about Banjo-Kazooie before they are released in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Earlier: The wait is finally over. We now know Banjo-Kazooie's release date as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This bear-and-bird duo will be made available today.

After the Direct is concluded, Masahiro Sakurai himself will give us a demonstration on how Banjo-Kazooie plays in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This is likely going to be similar to how Dragon Quest's Hero was presented to the Smash audience.

If the Piranha Plant, Joker, and Hero's releases are anything to go by, this means that Banjo-Kazooie will probably be launching with the next version update for the game. In other words, patch 5.0.0 could be coming with some balance adjustments.

Remember that with Banjo-Kazooie will come their stage, Spiral Mountain, and a plethora of music from the Banjo-Kazooie series. All of this will become available as a package.

Those that have already purchased the Fighters Pass won't need to pay any additional money. Those that have not done this will have to pay $5.99.

This is a highly anticipated character that we'll surely be breaking down once we get our hands on them. No information about when exactly Banjo-Kazooie will be releasing today was provided.
