Kazuki's brother has not been left out in the cold after all

Samurai Shodown's new arcade version was scheduled to release across Japan today, and players logging in to check their NESiCAxlive2 app accounts for the title appear to have been greeted with the sight of a character that has yet to be announced.

Since this does appear to be a leak from an official source, we've included the full details after the jump for players looking to avoid spoilers for future content.

Sogetsu Kazama, the brother of the next DLC character Kazuki, is featured in the top banner of the the arcade version's web page with a new portrait in the style of the current title pointing to his likely inclusion as a future DLC fighter.

There's a good chance Sogetsu was originally meant to be teased alongside the release of Kazuki's gameplay in November, but some wires may have been crossed to make him show up earlier than SNK intended.

As their appearances suggest, Sogetsu is the polar opposite of his fiery and brash sibling with the ability to wield water-based ninja techniques through hydrokinesis.

We already know the identities of the next three DLC characters with Kazuki followed by Wan-Fu to close out Season 1 in 2019.

Back at EVO 2019, SNK also revealed a second season of content will be coming in 2020 with four new characters. Mina Majikina was pegged to be the first of the next wave of DLC, so Sogetsu will still likely need to wait a good few months to actually take him into battle.

Samurai Shodown is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with Nintendo Switch and PC versions of the game still in development. SNK will also be releasing The King of Fighters 15 in 2020.
