Stages have always been a point of debate within the competitive Smash community — especially within the newer titles. As a result, we have seen many stages come and go as tournament legal.

If you're wondering what it is that makes each stage not playable, you're in luck. Rekzius details why each stage is legal or not in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in this new video.

One of the first reasons behind a stage not being included in competitive play is hazards. There are many that can literally make the game impossible to play competitively when you have to worry about the stage too.

Walls and ceilings are another factor that we must take into account with stages. The main reason is that they can let you live past a normal stock loss because of areas to tech or wall jump.

Camping potential is another huge thing that must be accounted for. If the stage is completely biased for projectile heavy fighters, a good player will take advantage and camp.

Some of the banned stages include Big Battlefield, Peach's Castle, Hyrule Temple, Saffron City, and many more.
