There's still one more character that we don't know about that's part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighters Pass that will come after SNK's Terry Bogard. Of course, we also know that DLC outside of this first Fighters Pass is currently in development.

Recently, vice president of Blizzard Entertainment and lead designer for Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, spoke to IGN regarding the possibility of an Overwatch character joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's already impressive roster. Needless to say, he appeared to be very on board with the idea.

"To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all," stated Kaplan. "They’re all our babies, you can have any single one of them. We have 31 to choose from."

Of course, this isn't the first time that Blizzard Entertainment representatives considered an Overwatch icon getting into the crossover fighting game that is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Blizzard producers Wes Yanagi and Andrew Boyd have also recently commented on the concept. Specifically, they stated that it'd be up to Nintendo and that they think of it as a really cool idea.

"Tracer's our girl, Tracer's our mascot. She'd be my first choice. There's a lot of great runners up... but if it were up to me, I'd like to see Tracer." — Jeff Kaplan, Blizzard Entertainment vice president

Although these two were unable to pick a favorite that they'd personally like, Jeff Kaplan did actually name someone he specifically believes would be a good fit for Nintendo's series.

"Tracer's our girl, Tracer's our mascot. She'd be my first choice," declared Kaplan. "There's a lot of great runners up. I think a lot of people can immediately see Doomfist gameplay applying to Smash, but if it were up to me, I'd like to see Tracer."

Masahiro Sakurai is well-known for selecting gaming icons. In particular, he tends to choose fighters from third party series that represent the franchise as a whole.

Although Overwatch has 31 different choices, Tracer does seem like she'd be the most likely candidate. She often appears in animations and advertisement for the game.

This topic appears to be spurred on by the announcement of Overwatch to the Nintendo Switch. It's slated for an October 15, 2019 release.

Of course, it seems that Blizzard has also seemingly joked about the possibility of Diablo representing the company in the Smash series. The cast of Overwatch definitely give off the vibe that they'd fit in with the rest of the Smash roster than Diablo.

Notably, Phil Spencer of Xbox openly made comments about his support of Banjo-Kazooie joining Super Smash Bros. Eventually, it actually happened. Based on Blizzard's openness regarding Overwatch representation, this could be an inevitability.
