Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is very often looked at as possibly the best character in the game. A big reason for this is Joker's Persona mechanic. Once his Rebellion Gauge is full, Arsene is summoned to supplement the power of Joker's attacks and abilities.

It is extremely important to keep an eye on the opponent's Rebellion Gauge as you rack up damage. A clip uploaded by Abigail really demonstrates to us why you want to be extra cautious of this meter when carrying Joker off stage with your combos. Even if you have less than 25% damage accrued, there is quite a bit of risk involved here.

The highlighted sequence has Abigail, the Joker player, going up against a R.O.B. user. As both players were freshly on their final stocks, any edge that either player was able to secure had the potential to win the match.

By all appearances, it looked as though R.O.B. was going to take this match as they begun dishing out a ton of damage against Joker with combos. While Joker was taking this damage, however, the Rebellion Gauge rapidly filled up.

After getting Joker off stage, the R.O.B. player began to behave as though they were a shark in blood-filled water. If they were able to connect R.O.B.'s side special so close to the blast zone, then Joker surely would've been defeated with 58% damage taken.

Unfortunately for R.O.B., the Rebellion Gauge had reached its limit by this point. This caused Joker to briefly stall in the air while completely invincible. R.O.B. was unable to secure that last hit.

Seeing this, the Joker player wisely decided to turn the tables on R.O.B. She opted to simply drop down and perform a back aerial on the opposing player.

Even though R.O.B. was at less than 25% damage by this point, we assume this was enough to defeat the last stock as a result of the close proximity to the blast zone and the extra power supplied by Arsene. The red screen flash is also a pretty good indicator of how this match ended.
