Ryusenkyaku, Thrust Strike, and Blocking

We got some incredibly exciting news just last night at the Capcom Pro Tour North American Regional Finals when Yoshinori Ono revealed that new secondary V-Skills are en route to Street Fighter 5 as part of the new Champion Edition update.

We'll need to wait until next month before we'll get this new update at home, (there will be a playable build for those attending Capcom Cup in December) but Capcom has shared some footage of Ryu, Ken, and the upcoming Gill using their second V-Skills.

Ken's is called "Ryusenkyaku" and is a "wheel kick that can leave you at frame advantage on block when fully charged." We see Ken combo into this attack during the brief showcase, but the text tells us that he'll also be able to use it in neutral.

Ryu's is called "Thrust Strike" and sees him slip past the opponent's attack and perform a counter. This looks somewhat similar to his V-Trigger 2 as well as his standard parry, which serves as his first V-Skill. That said, we'll have to see how it actually operates in the middle of gameplay before we jump too far into conclusions.

Gill's, as we saw in his reveal trailer, is called "Blocking" and allows him to "Deflect any strike to leave the opponent vulnerable." From what we've seen, it looks as though it functions a lot like the parries of Third Strike, though performed with different inputs.

Below you'll find footage, thanks to PlayStation, of all three in action.
