Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition announced as EVO Japan 2020 mainstage title

Of course it is

Street Fighter and EVO have gone hand in hand since the latter's inception, so it'd be day of great historical impact if at least one Capcom title did not show up as a headliner for their events.

With that said, the organizers for EVO Japan 2020 announced today Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition will be among the mainstage titles for the third year in a row joining five other previously revealed games.

It's no surprise to see SF5 here to stay for at least another year, but this list as a whole is looking nearly identical to that of EVO 2019 though obviously three short.

Capcom's flagship fighter is joining the likes of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 7, Samurai Shodown, Soul Calibur 6 and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle — which means they're still missing Dragon Ball FighterZ, Under Night In-Birth and Mortal Kombat 11 to match the Las Vegas event this year.

Some were curious where Street Fighter was among EVO Japan's initial roster reveals leading some to believe the game would not be announced until a brand new version of the title would be released to replace Arcade Edition. Obviously, that didn't exactly happen.

EVO Japan 2020 is scheduled to take place on January 24–26 at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall Nakase, Japan. You can take a look at the full reveal below.
