Players who didn't want to pick up the new Samurai Shodown on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One have had a long wait ahead of them though another enticing version of the game is rapidly approaching.

SNK released a new trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of SamSho for Japan including some bonus gameplay footage of Samurai Shodown! 2 which first launched on the NeoGeo Pocket Color back in 1999.

The Switch port of the SNK fighter will feature a couple of exclusive modes allowing players to tackle the game in Handheld Mode and allow multiplayer games to be run on singular Joy-Cons.

Early adopters of the game, at least in Japan, will also receive a digital copy of Samurai Shodown! 2 which looks like it will be played on a very small screen emulating a full image of the handheld itself — unless the trailer shot was just done for promotional purposes.

Samurai Shodown on Switch is scheduled to launch on December 12 in Japan while the west's release date has yet to be set alongside those of the PC and Stadia versions of the title.

Recently, SNK also accidentally leaked one of their Season 2 DLC characters via the arcade version of SamSho plus we're still waiting on the Puzzle and Dragons crossover costumes to release outside of Japan.
