After a couple consecutive "down" years, C9|Mango has again ascended to the top, winning his first Super Smash Bros. Melee major in years. His last win in a major was Super Smash Con 2017.

Known for his carefree attitude, reverence, and love for the game, he consistently has been a fan favorite, sporting one of the most successful Twitch streams and fan bases out of the Super Smash Bros. professionals.

Filled consistently with highs and lows since, he failed to reach first place, getting multiple second place finishes, and numerous top 8 segments. Finally for the first time in two years, Mango reached the top again, winning Get On My Level 2019 in dominant fashion.

Making his was through a stacked bracket, Mango showed off his signature flair, letting his Falco lead the way with his impeccable combo game. With every shine, every landed down air, you can’t help but get excited as a fan.

His near-death brushes with elimination always brings you out of your seat, as OG|Swedish Delight had him on the ropes, but he wouldn’t stay down — allowing Mango to reverse 3-0 him.

Anytime Mango wins in Super Smash Bros. Melee, it’s like a holiday; not because it hasn’t been that frequent as of late, but more so because of the following and adoration from fans.

Here, we see Mango complete his comeback versus Swedish Delight, finishing with a down smash to seal the set.

Hearing the chants, watching as he feeds off of it, and it culminates in a tournament win, a major at that, remains one of the best sights in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

One could argue Mango peaks are the greatest thing to watch when it comes to Super Smash Bros. Melee. His unpredictability and ability to lock in and obliterate with unorthodox combos and unique concepts is a trademark of his. He’s the ultimate People’s Champ.

During Mango’s set against TSM|Leffen, he takes advantage and extends a long combo to take the first stock of the match.

Mango and Leffen shared a little friendly banter on Twitter, which sums up their relationship and rivalry; lots of trash talk and mutual respect.

This win sort of serves as a reminder to what a locked in Mango can accomplish. It also puts the melee community on notice: he’s back in form.

Mango’s been consistent this year, even acknowledging this on his celebration stream. “For the first time in my life, I’m being consistent,” said Mango.

In grand finals, Mango does one of his signature Falco combos ending in a down air.

He did all of this without ever pulling out his Fox, going solo Falco the entire tournament. Mango now has his eyes set on Smash n’ Splash next.
