The King of Fighters: All Star brings Haohmaru and Kyo Kusanagi to the real world for a new commercial celebrating Samurai Shodown's upcoming release
We're now exactly one month away from the rebooted Samurai Shodown's release with its first new game in a decade, and the companies working with the property are celebrating in a pretty cool way.
Netmarble's mobile action RPG The King of Fighters: All Star is receiving a Samurai Shodown-themed collaboration which was announced via a new live action commercial featuring former Kamen Rider actors as the SNK protagonists.
This older Haohmaru is played by Hiroshi Fujioka, who was the original Kamen Rider hero Takeshi Hongo as well as Segata Sanshiro for Sega in the 90's. Actor Yuichi Nakamura portrays Kyo Kusanagi in the video, who also played Yuto Sakurai in Kamen Rider Den-O and Kyosuke Kiriya in Kamen Rider Hibiki.
The commercial begins with Kyo beating up some poor punching bag in the forest while Haohmaru approaches a shrine before being surrounded by other swordsman. Samurai Shodown's poster boy cuts down his opposition with relative ease before being confronted by Kusanagi, who was apparently watching the fight unfold.
KoF: All Star's Samurai Shodown collaboration event features gacha unlocks for classic characters like Haohmaru, Genjuro, Charlotte, Ukyo and Rimururu.
While it is currently only available in Japan and South Korea, The King of Fighters: All Star is scheduled to release in 2019 for Android and iOS in North America and Europe. You can check out the special trailer for the mobile game — not to be confused with the recently announced SNK: All Star — below.
