Capcom's latest main stage fighting game, Street Fighter 5, has been crush countering and critical art-ing for about 3 and a half years now. With the game being midway through its fourth season, fans are wondering what the future holds not only for the fifth installment in the franchise, but the franchise itself.

During one of his recent live streams, Street Fighter legend CYG|Daigo Umehara divulged what he would like to see out of a potential Street Fighter 6. Though the broadcast is fully in Japanese, FGC Translated brings us the English translated segment.

"I don't want any easy comeback factor in the game," Daigo says. "If you want to call this 'eSports,' that is."

Umehara goes on to explain his issues with comeback mechanics that are easily obtained, especially at competitive levels of play.

Daigo seems to be wanting a return to fighting games of the past where players were rewarded for having strong offense. He goes on to say that he feels the revenge meter and building meter from getting hit is not a good idea and he'd like to do away with it in Street Fighter 6.
