Mortal Kombat 11 finals will be played on the special custom 'No Coast, No Kings' stage at Combo Breaker later this month

We can't say we're all that surprised

Just as we thought might be the case back in April when this stage was revealed, Mortal Kombat 11's "Arcade" arena is seeing its first official eSports makeover as we'll seeing custom background inserts on it for Combo Breaker later this month.

With a large tournament logo dead center in the background, competitors will face off above long rows of white lights (they're more orange in their standard appearance) and who knows what other kinds of alterations to stage's far left and far right.

"A long way from the Pit, take a look at where Mortal Kombat 11 competitors will be playing Grand Finals at COMBO BREAKER 2019! The #MK11 "Tournament Stage" has transformed into the "No Coast. No Kings." stage in preparation for CB2019!" reads the tweet from the official Combo Breaker Twitter.

The Chicago based major fighting game event is known for having very strong NetherRealm Studios title showings and this year looks to be no different. Organizers released the final attendance numbers (save for any emergency registrants that can sign up only on the day before the event) just over a week ago, and MK11 is far and away the most popular game there with no less than 758 competitors.

Thus far we only have a still image (viewable in high definition by clicking the thumbnail below) but many are surely excited to see what pops up on the the arcade cabinets that stand out of shot of our view here.

Combo Breaker 2019 will take place at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois from May 24th-26th. Check back here on EventHubs for live coverage and regularly updates results.
