Nintendo Direct stream coming May 15 focused around Super Mario Maker 2

We're less than a month away from E3, but it appears as though some video game companies want to start things early with reveal streams before we even get to the big event in June.

Nintendo announced today that they'll be holding a Nintendo Direct stream focused around the previously revealed Super Mario Maker 2 on May 15 at 3 p.m. PDT / 6 p.m. EDT.

The live stream itself is scheduled to last only for around 15 minutes to go over the new features coming to the Switch title releasing on June 28.

Given the nature of the stream, the chances we'll see something fighting game related are slim — unless Mario Maker has some new mechanics for it — but there's still a chance we could see something Super Smash Bros. related at the end considering we don't know who the next DLC character will be... say Waluigi can maybe get his time in the spotlight?

Mario already has his construction outfit and the Super Mario Maker stage in Smash Ultimate, so they do have ins to make it work if they so choose.
